Ĭawthon's more notable religious projects included Pilgrim's Progress (2012) and The Desolate Hope (2012). A member of a group of Christian artists known as Hope Animation, Cawthon also made animated Christian films.
He attended the Art Institute of Houston in 1996, where he learned how to create computer graphics, but taught himself to develop games using the engine Clickteam Fusion. Cawthon's first professional game was called Iffermoon.
